Black Bottle Blended Scotch Whisky has become the official whisky of Scottish horse racing for 2007. The link-up will include trackside advertising and branding in hospitality areas. The whisky will also be sold in all bars at Musselburgh and Ayr racecourses during race days.

Maxxium UK has scooped two accolades at the Marketing Awards Scotland 2007. Managing director Huw Pennell was awarded Marketer of the Year, and The Famous Grouse's 16-year partnership with Scottish rugby won in the Sponsorship Excellence category.

Ian Macleod Distillers has relaunched its website, www.ianmacleod.com. It now includes updated sales information on individual brands, pack shots, advertising examples and downloadable pdf sales presentations.

The shops that stand out from the madding crowd

The judges met last week to sort out the winners in the independent categories of our 2018 Drinks Retailing Awards. The results are top secret until the awards dinner on February 6 but it’s giving nothing away to report that the overall standard of those that will be revealed in the shortlist of finalists in the January issue of DRN is higher than it’s ever been.
