Boutinot recalls Chilean wine
Wine importer Boutinot has issued a product recall on one of its wines because it contains the preservative sulphur dioxide which is not mentioned on the label.
The chemical is a possible health risk for anyone who is sensitive to sulphites.
The Food Standards Agency has issued an allergy alert advising anyone who is not to drink the wine: Novas Winemakers Selection White 2006 Chardonnay/Marsanne/Viognier with a lot number of L41358.
The wine is imported from Chile and sold mainly independent retailers and Booth’s supermarkets, the FSA said.
The recalled wine will be relabelled with the correct allergy information before being put back on sale.
Boutinot is supplying product recall notices for shops.
Consumers are being asked to return bottles of the wine to the shop they bought them from.
