'World's hottest chilli vodka' launched
Online retailer and bottler Master of Malt has launched what it says is the world’s hottest chilli vodka.
100,000 Scovilles Naga Chilli Vodka is made by infusing vodka with the world’s hottest chilli, the Naga Jolokia.
Scovilles are the unit used to measure the heat of chillies, and each Scoville unit denotes how many times the chilli must be diluted by its own mass of water until the heat is only just detectable.
A jalapeño has around 5,000 Scovilles, while the Naga Jolokia can exceed 1 million Scovilles – “more than most law enforcement-grade pepper spray”, according to Master of Malt.
The vodka is on sale at £31.95 and is being sold with the following warning:
“By purchasing this bottle, you agree that:
