Hop, Burns & Black reveals anniversary beer creations
Independent beer, hot sauce and vinyl retailer, Hop Burns & Black, is celebrating its third birthday by creating a limited edition anniversary series via a raft of collaboration projects.
The HB&B Hoppy Trinity is a result of the Hop, Burns & Black team pairing up with Cloudwater, Fourpure and Brick Brewery to create, respectively, Hop, Burns and Black beers. In addition, the shop has created a new hot sauce, Despacio, with Peckham street food company, Slow Richie’s.
The retailer’s co-founder, Jen Ferguson, said: “We got into this business not only because of our love of beer (and hot sauce and vinyl), but because we love people who love beer. It is such a privilege to work in the craft beer industry, which is one of the most inclusive and supportive scenes out there. That’s why we love collaborations – hanging out with great people, making magic happen.”
Hop, a collaboration with Cloudwater, is a Double Dry Hopped Pale Ale, which is “rammed to the gunnels” with New Zealand hops in a nod to the HB&B team’s Kiwi roots.
Burns, by Fourpure, is a Mango & Habanero Red Ale. Ferguson said: “For this beer, inspiration came from our chilli wall, specifically the amazing Burning Desire Burning Indulgence Mango & Habanero Hot Sauce.”
Black, which the retailer developed with Brick Brewery, is a blueberry & vanilla stout. Ferguson said: “One of our favourite dark beers of 2017 is Brick’s Melange Imperial Stout, so we reckon this is going to knock your socks off.”
The three beers and the hot sauce will be launched at Hop, Burns & Black’s third anniversary party at Brick Brewery, London on 24 November.
