Halewood bolsters Liverpool Collection with Rose Petal Gin

11 January, 2018

Halewood Wines & Spirits is extending its Liverpool Collection by bringing back its limited edition, ultra-premium Rose Petal Gin following the drink's first appearance in 2016, which the producer hailed as “a resounding success”.

Liverpool Rose Petal Gin, which is priced at £45 for a 70cl bottle, is currently available in Harvey Nichols’ Liverpool, Leeds and Manchester stores as well as through the retailer's website. Master of Malts is due to list the brand later this month while wholesalers, including LWC Drinks, Select Drams and Hammonds of Knutsford also stock the product.

The Liverpool Collection also includes Liverpool Gin Original, a Valencian Orange Gin, a 16-year old Rum and a 12 year-old Whisky.

The Rose Petal Gin is described as having a “romantic aroma” of rose petals, with citrus for sharpness. It has background notes of sweet liquorice, warming cassia and piney juniper with a long, rose finish on the palate.

Leanne Ware, senior marketing manager, said: “We are extremely excited to bring back the Rose Petal variant within the Liverpool Collection. With distinctive, romantic tones, this gin will work perfectly with the indulgent intentions and flavours of the season, as well as make for the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for those seeking something unique for their loved ones.”

Agreeing to disagree

Disagreeing about wine is a fact of wine-trade life, like drugs in sport or corruption in politics. Because taste is entirely subjective, debates about our personal preferences are as inevitable as they are interminable. Indeed, these long-winded, wine-fuelled arguments are precisely what make our jobs so much fun.
