Aldi bolsters its spirits collection with ten new additions
Aldi has added to its spirits line up with ten newcomers in time for the spring and summer seasons.
New drinks in the collection include the launch of Aldi’s own-label botanical gin brand, Haysmith’s, which initially comprises three flavours: Peach & Orange Blossom Gin, Mango & Passionfruit Gin and Seville Orange & Persian Lime Gin. The trio have the recommended price of £15.99 each.
The new gins will sit alongside Aldi’s new Infusionist range including the Strawberry Lemonade Gin Liqueur (rsp: 11.99), Strawberry & Watermelon Crush Vodka Liqueur (rsp: £11.99) and the Summer Trifle Gin Liqueur (£9.99).
Aldi currently sells more than 10 million bottles of gin each year and the retailer said “it is clear the gin bubble has not yet popped and won’t any time soon.”
To tap into demand it is also introducing District by Mason’s Rhubarb & Grapefruit Gin (rsp: £19.99) as well as “the ideal tipple for a Pina colada”, District by Mason’s Coconut & Lime Gin (£19.99). These new arrivals are all available in store and online nationwide.
The Rhubarb & Grapefruit variant is described as being "elegantly smooth" with a complex taste. The retailer said "the fusion of rhubarb fruit is perfectly balanced by the marvellous citrus of pink grapefruit and delicate juniper running throughout".
Coconut & Lime has notes of juniper, coconut and lime. The retailer said: "Close your eyes and imagine you are on a tropical island".
