Ten new rosés from Mont Tauch
Mont Tauch is launching 10 new rosé wines in the UK market to take advantage of growing consumer interest in the category.
The Fitou-based cooperative already has two rosés in the UK market: Mont Tauch Village du Sud rosé at the Co-op at £4.49 and Mont Tauch La Maison de Roselyne at selected Tesco stores at £4.49.
It has developed a range of 10 “consumer-friendly” wines using different combinations of Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault including oak aged wines such as Ancien Comté Cuvée de la Comtesse, Corbières 2008 and lighter styles such as Lady Bird, Corbières 2008.
Marketing director Katie Jones said: “Having invested more than any other co-op in the past 10 years in the structure of our winery, we are looking to showcase rosé wines from the Languedoc which we believe are diverse in style, and offer good quality and value.”
According to research recently commissioned by Vinexpo, rosé sales will rise by nearly 50% in the UK over the next five years. It predicts that white wine sales will grow by over 7% while reds decline by 5%.
