Clydesdale parts company with Carlsberg

Carlsberg UK has replaced Doug Clydesdale as its chief executive with Isaac Sheps.

Sheps will take on the role in addition to his current position as chief executive of Carlsberg South East Europe.

Clydesdale will leave the brewer after 11 years, the last three as chief executive.

Carlsberg Group president and chief executive officer Jørgen Buhl Rasmussen said: "We are now entering a new phase of development and the ambition is to bring the UK’s earnings closer in line with Carlsberg’s targets for Western Europe.

"Given his track record at Carlsberg South East Europe based on his leadership skills, his readiness to challenge status quo and his ability to lead from the front, we are convinced that Isaac Sheps is the right man to take Carlsberg UK to the next level.”
