Top Tip
The weekend closest to Guy Fawkes Night is always an incredibly busy one for us and by creating a display with everything people need to host a fireworks party, our customers more than double the amount they usually spend on a seasonal celebration. Rather than just promoting the obvious party drinks, last year we suggested some more unusual alternatives. One of the best sellers was a money-off promotion
on all the ingredients for mulled spiced cider. We printed off lots of copies of the recipe so everyone knew what to do when they got home : Take two pints of medium-dry cider (we suggested a regional cider from a nearby producer)
and heat it in a saucepan
with 4oz
(113g) brown sugar, 12 whole cloves, four sticks
cinnamon, 1 sliced apple (local Devon ones of course ) and six sliced apricots, until the sugar is dissolved.
