Gin and vodka role taken on by WSTA
The Gin & Vodka Association has disbanded and its role will taken over by the Wine & Spirit Trade Association.
The move sees the formation of a new spirits council within the WSTA to represent the interests of spirits companies.
It is chaired by Bob Rishworth of Halewood International, the recently appointed chairman of the GVA.
The move sees Graham Bateman and Louise Foxwell joining the WSTA team from the GVA as spirits policy director and spirits policy manager respectively. The change took effect from December 31.
WSTA chief executive Jeremy Beadles said: “The WSTA is looking forward to working with some new member companies and expanding its role.
“I would like to place on record our thanks to existing members for their continuing support on behalf of the industry. On a personal note I am delighted that Graham and Louise will be adding their expertise to our team.”?The GVA was created in 1991 through the merger of the Vodka Trade Association and the Gin Rectifiers & Distillers Association.
