Microbrewer joins mix at Surrey estate
Surrey Hills Brewery has applied for planning permission to relocate to Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking, Surrey.
The move will take place in the spring if Surrey Hills’ application is successful.
The microbrewery, based near Shere, has reached full capacity and owner Ross Hunter hopes the planned move will enable it to significantly increase current output, and reduce water and electricity consumption.
By taking up space in Denbies’ winery building, Surrey Hills will remain independent but secure its long-term future, said Hunter. “Our businesses share the same principles and complement each other in many aspects,” he added.
Denbies general manager Christopher White said: “It’s very exciting to reinstate one of the original products made here on the estate and Denbies is very pleased to support the growth of award-winning products in the local area.”?Surrey Hills Brewery won a gold award in the bitter category at this year’s Great British Beer Festival.
