Molson linked to Cobra bid
Molson Coors is the latest name to be linked with a possible purchase
of Cobra Beer.
The brewer is said to be considering a joint bid with American
investor Wilbur Ross. Molson Coors is thought to be interested in
Cobra’s UK assets while Ross is investigating the merits of acquiring
the Indian side of the business.
Diageo and SABMiller have also been linked to bids for Cobra but so
far Lord Bilimoria’s company has failed to find a suitor.
The Financial Times believes Bilimoria wants £185 million for the
company, which achieves 71 per cent of its sales volumes in the UK.
Molson Coors and Ross have not commented on the latest speculation.
